The Quartet were drawn into the Dead Moon Circus by Neherenia. She promised
to give them magic balls that would allow them to stay young forever. In
exchange, they would help her find the Golden Crystal. They wanted to stay young
because they felt adults lack the ability to have dreams.
The Amazoness basically pick up the job Amazon Trio did for the second half of
SuperS. They also hunt for the Dream Mirror,
which hides Pegasus, and the Golden Crystal.
Zirconia calls them "little girls", which is a good description of them.
You see, despite their skimpy clothing, the Quartet are somewhere between
12 and 14 human years old, maybe even younger! They are quite playful and are
usually found at the Circus getting into some kind of mischief.
They also don't like obeying Zirconia, and at first they refuse
to listen to her until VesVes is defeated in a fight with Zirconia.
Like the rest of the Dead Moon Circus, the Quartet uses a special technique
to retrieve Dream Mirrors from people. They use their magic balls like
pool balls, and use a pool cue to shoot the balls at their victims. When the ball
strikes the victim, their mirror pops out.
At the end of the SuperS anime, Zirconia betrays the Quartet and aborbs their
energy to help defeat the Senshi. Mercury figures out if the Quartet destroys
their magic balls, Zirconia will no longer have their power. SailorMoon convinces
the Quartet that they will not lose the ability to dream as they age.
Thus, they destroy the balls, and even do one more thing for the senshi:
they steal the Golden Crystal away from Neherenia and replace it with a pineapple!
At the end of SuperS, they simply become normal girls and disappear from the story
forever.

CereCere
CereCere is the Circus' trapeze artist, who has a strong passion for flowers.
On the surface, CereCere doesn't look all that tough. However, she can be extremely
devious and tricky. Unfortunately, she also has a tendency to act like a spoiled kid.
Her love of flowers is not only seen in her use of
"flower-like" Lemures; she also has a collection of magic flowers.
At one point, she even tricks the rest of the Quartet into smelling a "sleeping
flower" that puts them to sleep so she can be the one to attack the next
victim Zirconia has chosen for them.

VesVes
VesVes performs as one of the Circus' animal trainers, and because of this,
often uses a whip as one of her weapons. VesVes isn't too fond of
taking orders, and at one point even challenges Zirconia because the Quartet
doesn't want to follow orders. She almost defeats Zirconia in that fight,
thus can be considered to be fairly powerful. The Lemures VesVes calls each
have some kind of animal-like characteristic.

JunJun
As a master Acrobat, JunJun is very agile and quick. She often displays
her abilities throughout the series, and even uses them to impress and
trick one of her victims who is learning gymnastics (episode 155).
She seems smart, but also tends to be a little rough around the edges.
The Lemures called by JunJun include fellow acrobats, but also
include "fish-like" Lemures. Why fish? Who knows? Her tie to fish is
never explained.

PallaPalla
PallaPalla is the Circus' magician of balancing balls. However, you
could say PallaPalla is anything but "balanced". She is the craziest,
and most immature of the Quartet. She always refers to herself in the
third person, using "PallaPalla", instead of "I".
She loves toys, and is often found playing with her dolls. Actually, she
frequently uses her dolls in her schemes to retrieve dream mirrors. She can also
use them like voodoo dolls with her Ball Control attack. With this attack
whatever she does to a doll will happen to the Senshi. Another unique trait about
Palla, she likes to attack large crowds of people at once, rather than one
victim at a time like the others. This might be considered the one really wise thing Palla does!
